Anthony Walsh has one thing in mind last season in Hawaii and that was to have a go, no matter what the wind or swell was doing. While many seasoned Top 44 surfers raided the fridge and wore out the TV remote, Walshy was at Rockpiles or windblown Sunset putting his body on the line. “I went to Hawaii to surf. If it was breaking I wanted to surf it. The session I had at Rockpiles was the best of my life.” It’s that particular session that has got the tongues wagging. “Who is this Walshy kid?” they’re all asking. Well, since then the Walsh has come back and put in a qualifying effort to make the world juniors, made more magazine advertisements than Britney herself, and become, as he puts it, “closer to being there. I am not there yet but I am closer”. Anthony is a country boy with a mellow tone, his mood will put you into a relaxed state and his surfing will totally electrify you – this is Anthony Walsh.
